Agree on points of failure however modern OS allows for more than one mouse and keyboard input.

A lot of the guys I know will keep wired keyboard/mouse plugged in and use wireless/bluetooth keyboard-mouse combo.

Sure... if that's some people's preference, power to them.. but just not for me.

Quote from WinstonTJ:
If you are manually trading and you need the precision of one tick via mouse you probably shouldn't be manually trading.

You probably shouldn't be making assertions like that... to each their own, the best part about customizing your own trading rig is doing what works for you personally.

i agree w/ having backup keyboard/mice/batteries at the ready (no not buried in the closet somewhere where it will take you an hour to find them when your equipment is down in the heat of battle). anyways funny true story i heard...

this trader in a room full of traders got so upset that a trade was going against him that he threw his mouse against the wall after he closed it out (the mouse was smashed into pieces). unfortunately the our trader friend the position wasn't fully closed and he desperately tried to put the mr. mouse back together as the position kept going against him.

I never.. never use wireless keyboards/mice.

Why introduce more points of failure and input delay? Especially when trading?

Hmmm, well because wired mice are annoying as hell. I'll take the chance a black swan event doesn't occur during the 4 seconds or less it will take me to plug in a wired mouse should the wireless one ever fail. When the battery gets low, a window pops up telling me to change the battery. So, its not like, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, bang!, dead in the water. But, to each their own.

Thats actually kind of neat and silly at the same time. Why couldn't you just put your toast on a plate and your drink off to the side? i dont get it. Unless its a joke and im not getting it. :p

+1. what happens when a trade goes against you w/ that stupid tray? i'll tell you what - the toast will be the first casualty when you throw your hands up in frustration.
