All of the reasoning put forth a couple of posts ago is just that. Reasoning. This should not be about reasoning, but about the law, at least if we don't want to descend further into banana republicdom.

We should just let Obama go ahead and claim the presidency so that people won't be upset? Even if he's not a natural born citizen?

Then why should I obey the law? Why should anybody? Why should people be in prison right now. Please don't tell me it's because of the law.

The fact is that even though the state of Hawaii considers the certification of live birth to be enough, a dept within the state of Hawaii does not. And the reason that specific dept does not is because someone can be born out of state and still get registered in the state. Those are the facts. If the supreme court decides to overlook these facts because the people voted for obama and they are scared of the consequences, then that means the supreme court is not an arbiter of the constitution, they're just a rubber stamp for the whoever wields the most power. And that's what they're trying to preserve?

Doesn't matter much anyway. Given that the US is going to try auctioning several trillion dollars worth of bonds over the next few years and the consequences of that are going to destroy what we consider to be a normal way of life in this country.
 
Don't forget that there is a reasonable chance he has all the paperwork and is waiting to produce it at the approrpiate moment.

In the meantime they are watching who is all jumping on the bandwagon screaming for his head to roll. In that way he will know upfront before going into the White House who is on his side and who is not.

Smart move, I would do exactly the same. Why jump when a moron asks you to jump?

PS Recently we had something similar here in New Zealand where a member of parliment was accused of wrong doing. Only at the very last moment he produced the right papers and the court ruled him innocent but in the meantime those opposing him had a field day. He however miscalculated public opinion as it dragged on too long and people did reject the truth and voted him out of office during the election.

I want to see proof that the thread-starter and all his multiple aliases...as well as the conspiracy theorist contributors....are not homosexual pedophiles.

You need to immediately provide written confirmation from a certified mental health professional and a medical doctor.

You cannot post that proof on the Internet, as you can obviously falsify the documents. Please personally visit Baron and provide the proof to him for review, confirmation, and dissemination.

Again, you must provide proof that you are not homosexual pedophiles immediately. I plan to file suit in Federal court early next week.

The whole point to this debate:

Natural born citizenship is a prerequisite set out in the Constitution. It is not open for debate or interpretation, it's the law spelled out very plainly. It was put there by the founding Fathers to protect this country from outside intrevention.

Either President Elect Obama is a natural born citizen or not. If he is not then he cannot be President, period. exclamation point!

The case being brought to the Supreme Court, if they feel there is substantial evidence to warrant being heard, would imply they feel the Constitutional Merits of the case need to be heard.

The Supreme Court should not legislate it should make sure that legislation is constitutional.

If the Court wants to take the side that the proof has already been given by Hawaii's current papers in effect, they will not hear the case, It they do then Obama will have to prove his natural born citizenship.

The Supreme Court waving the Constitutional Prerequisites on technicality's would undermine the foundational fabric this Country was created
 
I think Obama was born in Hawaii. Even if he was born in Kenya he was born from an an American mother. If you are born from an American womb you are natural born to me. That would satisfy the spirit of the constitution. Btw, nobody has ever been sure what natural born means. Most of the time it is interpreted as you should be born as a US citizen. McCain was born in Panama btw.

Zero chance Supreme court overturns this. It would mean riots and a possible civil war over nothing.

Yes, McCain was born in the Panama Canal, Coco Solo - Air force station (Controlled by the US at the time), both Parents US Citizens, His Father was a Naval Officer stationed there.

Big Difference.

Military instillations are deemed US soil. Even if a parent is transported off base to a local hospital, for better medical treatment, the fact that a parent serving in a official capacity for the government in a foreign land, makes the birth official. ( might add both parents US citizens)

btw, It wouldn't be the first time a decision by the Supreme Court sparked violence. The consequences from upholding the constitution.

Hawaii's already said he's one of theirs, and that they have sufficient stuff to prove it. The State Dept long ago issued him a passport (the records for which brain-damaged idiots like the ones posting to this thread tried to get their hairy hands on), and that would have been partially based on his birth records. So the Feds have already weighed in.
The plaintiffs have no case. Period, exclamation point, etc. I can honestly say I've never witnessed any political controversy that was based on a more slender sliver of evidence, actually non-evidence, I guess, than this one. I'd say I'm amazed at the number of people taking this seriously, but that would presume a higher level of intelligence in the public than exists, on the actual evidence of this thread.

You're advocating relative ethics. Regardless of what you think, it does not satisfy the law.
