Quote from Trader7793:
This is a very amusing and interesting thread, but remember the US Supreme court does not exist as a stand alone entity out on an island somewhere. When they examine cases and issues and make rulings they do weigh the impact on the nation and consider "compeling interest".
If the state of Hawaii considers Obama's birth certificate legitimate and good... in all likelyhood the Supreme court will rule that it is also. This Supreme court is highly unlikely to make any sort of ruling that puts them into the realm of determining which state documents are legitimate and which are not, especially if the state itself says they are legitimate and the party using them does also. In addition think of the chaos that would come about if a popularly elected future president was declared ineliglibe this late in the process and during the middle of a global financial crisis and two wars. Declaring Obama ineligible to be president would be seen in much of the United States and most of the world as the democratic will of the american people overruled by one isolated arm of the government...one that is unaccountable to the people. The court would be forever tarnished and lose most of its prestige, respect and possibly eventually its authority. The Supreme court does not ignore the wider circumstances in which disputes like this occur.
They will probably review the documents which are presented and rule they are credible and legitimate and settle this issue once and for all... even if in truth the documents are a little shady. Due the the potential dire consequences of a ruling against Obama, the court will probably put enormous burdens of proof on Phillip Berg's team and not on Barrack Obama.
