People who put lots of people on block and ruin threads

GoldDigger is appropriate for somebody that
is a daytrader and makes money with stocks
on a daily basis.

You are a female and go by the handle of GoldDigger. The common meaning of that term is not related to Daytrading. The common meaning is closer to slxt.

It appears a person who has you on block can now post on your threads without even going through the hassle of taking you off block.

Not reply to you directly on your thread, but reply to others who replied on your thread.

Im not sure if that was always the case, but it seems to be the case now.

I no longer create serious Trading threads on this site for that reason, i just shit post in politics now.

Why would i take time to create a thread if i cant even read all the messages on my own thread anymore? Not to mention having to see nonsensical posts on my own thread (from people who replied to the person who has blocked me)

The block feature has been hacked onto the site and implemented in a very poor way.

Yeah that's because even though somebody has you on block, that person can still see your threads. They can't see your posts due to the "Ignore" function which is what they would have to put on first before blocking but the Ignore doesn't apply to threads only to individual posts. This is not an issue with blocking; this is an issue with the "Ignore" function and it's always been that way.

So when I create a thread, what I do is I just look at the visible posts that are there and respond to them. I don't bother to log off or log back in or whatever to see posts that may or may not be there. And if there are some posts there that seem to be odd and out of place and I cannot find out why, I just ignore them and just reply to the visible posts that make sense. Eventually I find if you are able to create a good path of conversation that is positive and interesting to people who visit your thread, all those invisible weird posts will just die off. Resist the urge to log off to find and read all those "invisible" posts to your thread. It's not worth it. It's time very badly spent.

Its not an issue with Ignore as you can see the other persons posts even if they have you on Ignore. So you are more or less ok with them posting on your thread even if they have you on Ignore.

Block is badly implemented as a dirty hack on top of Ignore.

When a person puts you on Block he effectively hacks your private Ignore list and gets to add his name onto your Ignore list (as well as his own). That is how 'Block' is actually implemented in the site software. Its a double sided ignore hack.

It looks like Baron might have paid someone to add this feature, but it wasn't even implemented properly.

So the way I see it as a possible solution to this is that if you block somebody, then after you unblock that person, there should be a timer introduced like a day or 2 days or 5 days or whatever before you are allowed to reply back to the person that you previously blocked and now unblocked.

Something like this was offered to Baron, as an idea, years ago. It was nixed. I dunno' why,

The "Ignore" and "Block" functions themselves are created here I feel just to keep peace between people who just don't have the maturity to do so otherwise. If blocking me ended up putting him/herself on my Ignore list, then so be it. If he/she hates me that much in that he/she doesn't want me to see his/her shit, then fine I don't want to see his/her shit anyway. LOL I don't see that as a problem; I see that as an added benefit. LOL

I dunno I think overall I just don't care that much. Unless I am a vendor and I really want control over my threads which is what I use to advertise and solicit my business, I couldn't care less if somebody posted gibberish in my threads. I am not interested in really disseminating my ideas and selling them to anybody, so why would I care so much about my threads that much? If you like what I said in the threads, great, if not, who cares. Like I said, if you really want to steer the conversation in the way you want, just ignore the trolls.

I think it's probably too hard to program and/or too taxing for the server to have to keep track of everything.

I have just one person on block.

I can see this person's threads.

I'm sure previously i was unable to see the threads of anyone i blocked?

Is this a new bug or has it always been this way.

I don't want to see the threads of people i block, i also don't want people who have me blocked posting on my threads either.

No if you blocked a person, that person won't see your posts but they would still be able to see your threads. It's when you put somebody on "Ignore", that's when you can't see the other person's posts but you can still see their threads. Threads somehow are always immune from "Ignore" or "Block".

The problem is that there are so many rude and
obnoxious people on this forum and they are not
regulated. When I first came on here somebody
called me a slxt because I am a woman, no other
reason, and I don't remember whether I reported
it or not, but that user should have been banned
for being unprofessional.

I've never heard the term sixt and cant find a reference online.

What does it refer to?

A female with the name "GoldDigger". I'm surprised they didn't call you something worse than a Sixt.

Ida called them a kunt in return.
