I agree, why leave anything subjective? Have the damn thing notarized or present an ID when you vote in person.
Ah yes, let's disenfranchise more people with poll taxes. Maybe take similar liberties with other constitutional liberties like gun ownership

It’s against the law here to charge a fee to notarize a ballot. Your county voter registration/election board gives you a voter registration card with your name and party affiliation, free. You can present that or a picture ID when you vote.

Where’s the monetary disadvantage?
 
Hunting down a notary at a busy time, free or not, is excessive, particularly because the incidence of fraud is so low everywhere without that requirement.

You literally have weeks to get your early mail-in ballot signed sealed and delivered. Lame excuse.
