Peloton - really people?

Joseph Carlson is the youtuber who was promoting that Peloton. The logic was he figured the pandemic would make a lot of people stay at home and be forced to find a way to exercise and... peloton has a silly screen-gimmick which made it a sure thing.
It worked.... Until the pandemic ended.
Peloton....
If something is being pumped up across social media and the masses....there's a high probability it's bs, and primarily based on temporary, fake, hype.
Products and companies use to mean something -- but now, it's all about social media, mind, control. $900 trading courses and $1,100 Kanye sneakers and $600 Kardashian makeup bundles. I've always hated society, humanity, for being so ugly, impure and shady and gullible.
Won't the lack of demand cause the price of fuel to drop?
Long before I existed in this world you can find article after article on how there would be no more oil/gas in the very near future and oil refineries were a dead-end tech, and well... shit... we were told we would run out of oil in just a few years...
I'm still waiting for that. How many more thousands of years until we get to this magical free-clean energy? Maybe after we fix the lithium disaster that does even more harm?

Not unless the lack of demand spreads to everything related to oil, which is a lot of things.
Let's see... An oversupply will lead to lower prices at first. But adjustment to supply will eventually see the prices rise again for there to be profit.
Oil extraction and processing require substantial demand for these businesses to be viable; less demand, less supply, meaning shutting down operations. You can do maintenance of shut operations for so long before they're written off and sold for scrap.
Of course, oil has other uses beside fuel for cars, such as plastics. These will also be affected and become significantly more expensive within 15 years.
The world's militaries depend on oil to run their equipment, so military budgets will increase accordingly, unless

Lower price will lead to less incentive to convert.
Now I may be wrong but I believe these guys can make a profit at 40 bucks a barrel.
