The leader of the Senate has been pretty clear and acquittal will be rapid.
There is a possibility that the House will return to Republican majority in November and that likely means no additional impeachment/coup attempts and Trump having a super-majority.
It could be that Trump will institute deep reforms. Something is needed... for stability.

Much to the chagrin of conservatives, Trump already offered the dems the deal of the century on DACA. He not only accepted their offer but sweetened the pot beyond recognition. Then they said no because they did not want to take yes for an answer and give Trump a victory.

The FISA court is being snakey too.
They know that congress is about to hold hearings on them VERY SOON after the first of the year and they are pretending to be outraged by what they have known for a long time. The house intel committee has shared all of the fisa fraud with them for years now, and suddenly they are trying to get ahead of curve as proposals to eliminate or modify the court arise.
I think it is good because it gets the fisa court issue in the spotlight and rolling. But I see the court for the snake that it is.
The FISA court issued 1100 warrants in the last year. And it rejected one and one was withdrawn. The rejected one was probably accepted too after they corrected some minor detail. Yet, Comey stated to Chris Wallace "it is extremely difficult" to get a FISA warrant. Bullshiite on steroids.
Anyway, yeh, the FBI needs rebranding and re-organization along with some of the other players. Basically any organization that Comey, Loretta, Clapper, Brennan, and Samantha Powers ever touched needs to be totally fumigated.
There’s more than 20 republicans not seeking re-election because the prospects of republicans winning the house is so low. But anything is possible.
