Schumer on the likelihood of witnesses: ‘Probably no.’
Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, acknowledged on Wednesday that winning enough Republican votes to allow witnesses to testify was unlikely.
“We’ve always known it will be an uphill fight on witnesses and documents, because the president and Mitch McConnell put huge pressure on these folks,” Mr. Schumer said during a break in the impeachment trial.
His silver lining?
“We have won over the American people,” he said. “Our Republican colleagues — at least some of them — realize that if they are to reject witnesses and documents, they’re going against not just a small group or not just Democrats but against the whole grain of America. And they know that they may be held accountable to that.”
He maintained he held out hope that enough Republican senators would agree.
“Is it more likely than not?” he said. “Probably no. But is it a decent, good chance? Yes.”
Cliffs: OK, so there was quid pro quo, but cheating in the election in the name of the public interest doesn't count.

I hope it ends Friday too. What would make it awesome is if Democrats Dianne Feinstein, Joe Manchin and Doug Collins join in voting for acquittal. Democrats would have a hard time explaining the resulting acquittal. That would also, nullify votes of Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney if they vote for witnesses. Mitch McConnell said if they have the votes to acquit, they will put it to a vote.
Notice how Traditionalists/Constitutionalists are labeled as "right wing"...Disgusting.
It will end Fri.----Then, the next hoax will begin early Saturday Morning or perhaps even Friday night.----AND there will definitely be an October hoax.

I don't see Susan Collins voting to convict even though that is the probability being touted/framed by the media. I just don't see it. But she is in the midst of a very tough re-election campaign with massive amounts of outside against her. But I don't see it yet.
You could definitely get her to vote for censure but I don't see that option in the process. I suppose the house could crank out an article to censure and send it over but I have not seen any talk of that- "yet" I should say. Censures don't really have any real status in the constitution so probably they dont need articles or a charge on it. Just use their basic power as sitting senators.

The GOP controls the proceedings, they could've voted to subpoena Beyonce by now if they wanted to. This fantasy that by bringing in Bolton will allow the GOP to grill all the president's enemies is a FOX talking point. The only ones who don't want witnesses here are the repuglicans.
The whole thing is a sham. This is why it needs to put down ASAP and not given any dignity or respect. What Idiot Dems don't realize is that they are opening up the whole system to where Republicans will be able to impeach the next Dem president for nothing------and they should. This is a real problem for The Country, but of course, Idiot Dems don't care about The Country.
The Republican party will become irrelevant and go the way of the Whigs after the 2020 election.
