PCLN Earnings - 1080/1100/1120 Call Fly - Paper Trade

Here's a fly for PCLN:

Nov15 1060/1100/1140 for around 15.00

Should be able to pull a few bucks out of it relatively soon.

(I am in the puts from 15.00. I also have the 100-wide in Dec)

Stock is going lower. I have some neutral to 80 and 90.

And out at 17.00. That's how you trade flies.

ya, and your shit expired worthless. From zero to zero.

Wrong ....... As a paper trade it was "closed" at noon on Friday for $100.00, that's when I first checked the progress after earnings and posted HERE. If this was a real trade I probably would have closed at market open when it was at $65.00. That's assuming the Yahoo quotes are accurate in those screen-shots. :)

FX I give you a lot of credit for trying something different. I did one earnings play of FSLR..call diagnal slightly OTM which didn't go my way and ended up closing for a sm loss. The point is at least with an options play you seldom lose your max bet. Depending on the structure and how you manage your trade you can end up with a sm winner even if the trade doesn't end favorable. Granted you give up your home run when you limit your downside but the way to stay in the game long term is with the singles and doubles.

And this thread demonstrated that. Even though the 1080/1100/1120 fly was OTM on expiry day it still had $100.00 value when I checked it at noon. Down only $210.00.

You use Yahoo quotes to price flies? Baller. You never stated it was closed; you stated where it was trading.
