Sorry that it appears I am the one to tell you this but NO you dont 'deserve' to make more than your willing to work for. Socialism has been tried many ways and many times. It doesn't work.
Who said anything about Socialism here? I am a proud Ron Paul supporter. The only political candidate Iâve ever given money to. I'm not talking about taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Iâm talking about an honest dayâs pay for an honest days work. Is $4.50 a fair wage? I know. I know. If I donât like it I can quit. My point is there is not much else out there right now. This is the best I can do now, but it doesnât make it right. The low pay isnât what bothers me as much as the fact that every year my money is being eroded through inflation. If I donât get a raise, I actually make less money. If I put a dollar under my mattress, one year from now itâs only worth 95 cents. Thatâs wrong. This is how the middle class is being wiped out. I have a credit card with Chase. On all of my credit accounts I have absolutely perfect payment history. So how did they reward me? They raised my interest rate from 8% to 24%. Is this what you call a free market? I follow the rules and they triple my interest rate.

People seem to forget about the spend side to that equation. If everyone else is making more than the free market value your costs will go up. Furthermore the demand for your labor at inflated rates will go DOWN and someone like you if not you will be out of a job all together which means less for others and the spiral continues.
Yes I know the free market has dicatated that I get $4.50 an hour and no benefits. I know that because there are more than enough people willing to work for that right now. That doesnât make it right. Think of it this way. I am better than most drivers. If you drove with me I would already have the pizza delivered by the time you figure out where we are. I can do the work of 1.5 drivers. I am loyal and can work any position in the store. Have never stolen a penny and will always work for whatâs best for my fellow employees and customers. So paying me more will help the business. If you had all guys like me running the store, you would be able to save on labor because you would be able to hire less people. Also there would be less turnover, which costs the company in acutal expenses, as well as lost sales due to low performance of a new employee.

You quit a job two times before as I understand and you can't figure out why they don't want to return your calls?
I never called them. It was a very unprofessional store. So I quit and then the store manager called and begged me to come back. I stayed a few more months and then quit again. If I owned a store and somebody worked for me for 4 years and then quit, I would at least call him to find out why. But that's just me.

Go get yourself a trade or a new degree where your skills are in demand. Waiting around for Obama to save you from having to make tough choices or having responsibility beyond making sure a pizza is sent to the right place for a 'living wage' will only waste your time. It wont happen because it CANT happen
Did you not read before where I said I donât want a handout from Obama? Of course nothing is free.

24 years old living with your parents? By the time I was 24 I owned a restaurant/bar for three years and bought my second rental house. This was after moving out at 18 and never looking back
Well thatâs great for you. Can I ask how old you are? Are you one of these Baby Boomers that thinks my generation is worthless and lazy? You might be right about some of us, but not all of us. You guys all think youâre investing geniusâs because you bought the DOW 30 years ago at 500. If I told you in 30 years the Dow would be at 200,000, you would think Iâm crazy. But thatâs exactly what has happened. You guys all bought your big single family homes for 50k, and are now worth 800k. You benefited from the huge inflation boom of the past 30 years that my generation is now paying for.
I got my insurance and series 6 license when I was 18. Unfortunately you usually donât make money in that proffession unless you aggressively sell stuff (screw people out of their money). I wasnât willing to do this. I sat in an appointment once and watched my boss sell a couple the most expensive life insurance possible, even though he had the quotes from another AAA rated company all ready to go. He called it selling the âwhite meatâ products. I also opened a small store in a mall three years ago, all financed through deliverying pizza. That didnât work out either. I sold the rest of the inventory on eBay.
I would love to start my own restaurant. Would you lend me 250k to start it? I didnât think so.
