The perspective of Latinos and abortion is not so dependent on catholic upbringing they way it was for a long time. The (current) sentiment is for choice. The way it is viewed is different than Americans way of viewing. Latinos in general view terminating a pregnancy (first 12 weeks only) only when the situation of the family is so poor already, that to terminate the pregnancy would be to the benefit and financial well being of family. A BIG emphasis is with the family. Most are very family oriented.
And birth control is not a sin, and is welcomed. Most girls are taught about birth control.
