hey guys, I am a sophomore in college who recently found out about prop trading. I tried that online example test (http://www.tradertest.org/test_math.php?quickselect=math_easy&mode=test)
which was originally posted earlier in the thread. In 8 minutes I was able to answer 78 questions with 3 wrong for a score of 72. Is this good? Is the actual test harder?
Also, what firms are likely to accept internships from sophomores. To my knowledge, only Jane Street, DRW and IMC have on-campus recruiting events and interviews at my university.

well, the test is a little harder.
The questions are comparable, but the answers are multiple choice and often you have to choose from a bunch of weird fractions. So for example the question is
12/4 - 8/2
and the answers
* -1/4
* -4/2
* -2/1
* - 8/2
Not that difficult, but it sometimes slows you down a bit.

wow, there is a lot of variance in this test... i took it 5 more times and got a 66, 80, 68,78,76... do they really do nothing to correct for this huge variation?
And, does anyone you know of a website where I could find a test that is more like the actual one you just described? I'm curious to see how I would measure up on a more realistic one.

will soon take the Optiver exam. Do you know if the 2nd and third test are the same day if we pass the first one?
I ve been training on tradertest with easy level to start, which is ok. Howver the medium test was much harder (question of time...). In terms of questions only (since I know that Optiver has a special way to present answers) is the easy level comparable?
I am currently reading Trachtenberg speed math but am not sure it's really useful since Trachtenberg is good for large numbers. Could you pls clarify?

I'd like to know this as well. I will be making the test as well, but after taking the medium test I just sent an email to postpone the test (I'm chanceless there). Too bad the original math test has disappeared. I did à similar test at all-options, I scored just 5% too low, i was wondering whether u may use scrap paper for the three test?
At all options we Also had three test, first one was fast calculations, simple + -*/ quesions, just Make as Many as u can, then the second test was THE sequence and pattern test, and we were allowed to use SCRAP PAPER!
Third test was à more difficult test, consist again with calculations, but with bigger
Numbers, or with more operators, and u were not allowed to use scrap paper, so u needed to have à good memory for yr sub calculations!
So i was wondering whether u may use scrap paper at optiver???
