Taking the day off because of Veteran's Day here in the US. I may look to see how BA does, to keep up with the "story" but not much else planned.

  • I don't typically like options like this WKHS because of the nickel spread garbage. I bought 0.30 at 0.25 x 0.30. When it moves up, it's only 0.30 x 0.35, so I really have to get an outsized move to get exit fills that I want. You try to sell 1 cent above the bid and still won't get filled.

  • This NIO move overall was disappointing. Breaking ATHs, I expected a lot more upside momentum. But after seeing that small drop at 10:15am -- I took some more risk off, so I peeled a little at 0.35 and 0.39. Now I have a tiny runner to see if these can go for 0.60+, but I doubt it. I have a 3 cent trailing stop on this.

    Update: Yep, stopped out the last at 0.35. I have other things to attend to today so I'll leave it at that.

  • I completely whiffed on a NSC news scalp. I literally saw 237.50 calls at 0.25 x 0.30 or something and then within minutes it jumped into some weird spread all over the place, like 1.10 x 2.50. Even after the news digested, I see these at 0.40 x 0.65.

    I think I hesitated because I felt "lucky" off the VIAC news scalp, I'm not sure.

Stray thoughts:
  • I wasn't too pleased with my averaging down on that BA. My hard stop was down around ~2.20 (on the option) after the average down, so I was prepared to eat the loss, but that wasn't a great decision process-wise.
