I tried to do a 20 contract vertical spread trade on Wednesday.
The order kept getting bounced saying insufficient margin.
I had enough to do 200 if I wanted.
I tried 3 x, then I checked the description and it read : selling 1 = 10 contracts, so I tried again with 2 thinking well that means I will sell 20 right!
Wrong I sold 2 lol.
It was the end of the day and by the time I called and got through (10 mins later) the market had moved and the day was over.
Of course the following day Thursday they dropped and the trade was not worth it anymore and Friday they expired worthless.
That's .50 X 20 that IB's stupid platform cost me AGAIN.
IB is good for futures but come Monday I'm moving ALL my options trading funds to OptionXpress.
So put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!!!!!!!!
And yes I can give you specifics if you want them are you going to give me $1000 ??????

I use smart on stock and options. TWS is fine for eminis and
stocks but OEX options take 30 seconds to a minute to show the
executed fill. Limit order entries post immediately but
not fills.
I like IB and have traded with them in futures and stocks for
about 5 years. However in the last 3 weeks since I started day
trading OEX options the fills have been as stated above.

It is said that IB is build to serve professional traders need,
not those who can't forget $1000 .
