Official 2010 World Cup ET Headquarters

Quote from William Rennick:

Origianal prediction for the final was Germany 3 Argentina 2. This will be a quarterfinal match instead due to draw.

New prediction:
Germany 7
Brazil 6

Result from double overtime. The game will be 3-3 after 30 min. overtime. Krauts will win the free kicks.

Rennick the Greek out:cool:

Europe has never won a world cup out of europe.. What makes you think this time will be diferente With Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, paraguay and Argentina in the top 16?... By the way, since 1930 every world cup has been divide between americas and europa.. One world cup is won by europe, then the next one goes to america (with one exception in sweeden 1958 with brazil winning the cup in europe).

Quote from Optionpro007:

Spain must win and Chile has only had one shot on goal in two matches. This could turn out to be one of the best games of the WC.

Someone sent this...

This World Cup is turning out to be like World War II... the French
surrendered early, the Italians caved in under pressure, the Americans
arrived at the last minute and the English are left to fight the
Germans... Meanwhile the Japanese fight on in the background and the
Spaniards are fighting themselves

Spain is a better team, But portugal can beat them. Spain has one of the worst goalkeeper in the world in the name of Iker Casillas who allow over 77 goals in the last 2 seasons. I don;t know why Valdez from barcelona is not playing for spain, he is the best goalkeeper spain have right now by far.

Also, Portugal was in the semis in the last world cup with this same team and they have a record of 7 goals in favor and 0 against in 3 games in this cup. Spain lost from swiss and have a record of 4 goals in favor and 3 against. And to be honest man, spain had one of the weakest group in southafrica with Honduras, swiss and chile (3 second class teams) and they (spain) struggle to survive.

I really Can see Portugal beating spain in their next match.

I am your typical ignorant American soccer fan, so I ask you this...did England have a different goalie vs. Germany than the USA? If so, did he get benched after the USA game because of that bogus goal he gave up? I haven't followed the World Cup much at all, so I apologize ahead of time for my question.

Not sure what the commotion was about, clearly not a goal

Your pattern is about to broken by a young group of relatively unknown players. Few of which have alot of playing time in league play. The key to the success for Germany is that while they have no superstars, they have the best team out there. Instead of an occasional gathering of all-stars, Germany put together a team of nobodys that is superior by design because it's just that, a team.

I'm supper pissed. I couldn't watch the dutch because france 3 live videos weren't working. If somebody has a reliable free live channel that can be watched in Europe, it would be really great.

However, we won.

Well, to be fair Valdez made some huge errors two seasons ago that cost him and the team quite a bit. Back then Casillas looked like the star. As you rightfully point out, things have changed and today Valdez is performing much better than Casillas.

Spain went something like 50 games unbeaten for 2 years before losing the record to the US earlier this year. I still think Spain will previal.

Would have never guessed Loew could put a functioning German team out of the players he had to work with. Happy to be proven wrong.

Chile's team A+

Yup. Green was put to rest and his replacement really screwed things up. I consider this a big reason for the huge German victory.

I knew there a reason WHY I awoken so early Sunday morning:

"To watch the best 45 minutes of the entire World Cup(England vs. Germany)."

When Lampard hit the bar and the ball crossed the line I was out of my seat for the third time that Sunday morning. So far it’s been all South American.

Lets hope for an all South American final four.

This is my final picks for July 11, 2010:
