OEC dead in the water this AM?

I have a small secondary account at OEC but have yet to upgrade the platform. What I want to know is why the hell must the upgrade be "mandatory"? No other brokers that I know of or dealt with ever force you to upgrade. That choice should be left to the end-user.

ThinkorSwim does mandatory upgrades. No worries, though - I've yet to have problems with them, or ones they didn't fix quickly and proactively keep us informed.

Virtually all software upgrades are eventually made mandatory.

They generally include software upgrades, enhanced software for updated data feeds, new indicators, charting styles, different methods for processing information as well as add-ins designed to fill a host of different end-user needs.

It might be a good idea for Open E-Cry to do a more thorough job of beta-testing the software before its next release.

Good trading

No problems at all today with OEC. Have charts/doms for indexes, financials, currencies, commodities and they will all fine all day for me.

They should let their production users be beta-testers like IB. Oh wait, that's what they did with this last release.....

Oh snap! Pma in da house! Bumpin' this to the top once again.
I will bet some $ that OEC will once again suck by the opening bell-any takers?

Sounds like you should change your user to PMS not PMA. I traded with OEC all day today, nearly 400 contracts without a single issue. Are you a shill for another firm?

It sounds as if your mileage may vary in using OEC still.... Tonight I couldn't get any charts going and then I got booted out, now it's back up however.

I saw that a couple of other people here suggested getting together to search for a replacement to OEC, they've been good until this upgrade, so I too started looking again, please post where you are going if possible.

I found the fee structure is tough to match for data and a charting platform.......

Would also like to have Trin and Tick indicators which OEC has been saying is coming for a while now....
