Quote from murray t turtle:

Good points Merc;
& ''fast & furious'' seems more & more like a ''shot heard round the world'':D MRC rebuked the media for coverage as ''ehnic disdain for Holder''

Not only does that ruling probably help Gov Romney win;
it helped people that can afford a CPA, or help people to do thier own tax[ a small number,LOL].

CNBC had the same headline as AK47;
with all due respect actually it was'' upheld as a tax'' Big difference;
because many rich people , many eco disadvantaged people do not pay tax.:D

It looks like a victory for the King of Egypt, but not really ;
we win when the hail stones fall against the Egyptians, & @ the Red sea-We win, thank the Lord of Hosts........................:cool:

wow just wow.

I was just averaging into lots of stuff on both sides, and taking advantage of the chop, but you are definitely right, it is time for a drink, it was stressful as hell, i kept on getting myself into new positions that had me looking at a loss that was going to blow out my day times 5...... only to see them come back and turn into huge winners.... I made money on every single one that i traded, but had some downright ugly unrealised losses for a bit.....

Quote from PiggyBank:

Really? I shorted fucking wlp the second I heard 'ruled unconstitutional' of course i was way late and guess what.. it got fucking HALTED. I didn't buy the others until too late either, so yea i lost in the 3 i traded. at least they didn't open wlp like 4 points higher though....

Some day so far.. i think its time to start drinking.

We need to clearly define what is a tax.

This is not a tax, IMO, it is a mandate.

I don't even get what it is yet. We already have medicaid/medicare taxes, so why not just raise those? If you are poor and qualify for medicaid aren't we already paying for your healthcare? I just don't see what the purpose of this mandate/tax even is, to me it appears nothing more than a power grab. what am i missing?

A contribution for the support of a government required of persons, groups, or businesses within the domain of that government.
A fee or dues levied on the members of an organization to meet its expenses.
A burdensome or excessive demand; a strain.

Tax is pretty well defined. What we're witnessing is just what can be taxed. Apparently it's whatever the government wants it to be.

Okay.
Would you buy a General Motors product because the government demands that you do so because "it is for the support of a government"?

"For all of the screaming the Right did over single-payer — and for good, outcome-based reasons — at least the money paid by taxpayers would go directly to government . The Supreme Court has signed off on what is, in very practical terms, a tax levied by the insurance industry on Americans simply for existing. It’s an amazing, and fearsome, decision that really should have both Right and Left horrified."

I would if it's wartime.
