Because he said "the earthquake in Hawaii". He didn't say the 2006, the 1975 earthquake.

With all these earthquakes one can only hope that Obamacare gets passed soon so residents of all 57 states will see that 3000% reduction in their premiums.
 
It makes zero sense, even for the sake of argument, to assume that he meant an earthquake which did no harm. You are trying too hard.
