Obama: What the F**k Was That?

Quote from Maverick74:

You cannot tell me with a straight face that you are not a big government liberal and support universal health care, which will end up being the largest entitlement program in the history of this country. You cannot do that with a straight face. Liberals always argue the "victim angle" as to why we need government to solve all our problems including health-care. No where in the constitution does it say Americans are entitled to free health care.

Are you even reading what you post? Seriously man? Go back and read your posts again. The entire premise of Keynesian policies is that the government will spend us out of economic downturns. We don't need Keynesian policies during the good times, they only get pushed during the bad.

Nice job naming those democrats fighting hard to take the corporate interests out of Washington. LOL. You crack me up. You say that in the same breath as Obama raising the most money in history from banks and hedge funds. Honestly, you need to do a little more research before you come on this forum after a 2 year hiatus from posting.

So...you completely disregard the fact that I say no to reckless government spending on defense, reckless oil and farm subsidies. Or how about propping up Israel??? Where is your conservatism on that?

And by the way...still waiting on real world data bro? and what's your response to the conservative supreme court justices declaring that a corporation has the same rights as a human? or about Citizens United v. FEC? No response???

Quote from Maverick74:

I'll give you the exact reason right after you name me 5 democrats fighting corporate interests. Come on man, I've been asking for awhile now. Don't run from it, you put it out there. I'll look for your answer tomorrow. I'm giving you a lot of time to google this shit now. So get to work!

Okay..here goes the sponsor of the bill and a brief summary...

1) Carolyn Maloney - Credit card holder's bill of rights
mandates clearer disclosure and prevents practices that in some
cases charge interest on already paid balances.
2) Robert Menendez - Close Big oil tax loop holes
"Repeals five tax subsidies for U.S. oil companies and closes a
loophole that oil companies use to disguise foreign royalty
payments as taxes and reduce their domestic tax bill. All savings
under the bill would be applied to reducing federal budget deficits."
3) Barbara Mikulski - Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
Allows minorities and women to challenge pay discrimination.
4) Barney Frank - Wall Street reform and Consumer Protection Act
You guys know this very well by now. :)
5) Patrick Leahy - The Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act
"...enhance criminal enforcement of federal fraud laws, especially
regarding financial institutions, mortgage fraud, and securities
fraud or commodities fraud."

Highest poverty rate...the great state of Mississippi!
Explain that please?? Republican state..no prosperity??
These states at the bottom of the economic standings have been there for decades. Most have only become red states in the last 20 years, especially on the local level. Even Texas only had its first Republican Governor after 100 years in 1979.

The poverty rates are the legacy of the deprived and racist politics of the Democratic party for over 100 years before they became Red states. The discrimination and segregation that led to a racist public education system and a racist economic system.

If you measure since 1980 the Southern red states have had the most job and population growth in the country. In fact in the last year Texas has created 37% of all the jobs in the great Obama recovery.

If you look into any local town or city with a high level of poverty you most likely will find layer after layer of encrusted democrats in charge.

Chief Justice John Marshall: "A corporation is an artificial being" -pretty strong precedence
The Citizens United case is what they call "unintended consequences " of bad law.
The McCain -Feingold from the start was a dubious law. Logically the thought that Congress can limit speech in the last 30 days of a campaign is ugly law.
Legally this opened he door to review all campaign law. Its clear that to limit corporations and not other legal entities is unfair.
If two people get together to form a business why should they lose the right lobby for their interests?

Alright listen up Nancy...

I never claimed to be a Keynesian...I only challenged the Friedman views. Especially during a downturn and the idea that austerity would turn things around and lead to prosperity.

And yes, one of the roles of government is to provide everyone healthcare. But, I am against corporate subsidies and out of control defense spending. (So don't give me this small government bullshit till you take your Republicans to task on these points).

And you Reps are patriots and such right!? So where was your outrage during Citizens United v. FEC when the Supreme Court's 5 conservative justices allowed foreign corporations unlimited campaign contributions in our elections?

What next kids? This is too easy. :)

Exelon.

You're right, this is easy.

Quote from optionable:

For the love of all that is virtuous and..umm whatever...

Read my posts! I never proposed said spending by government is the best alternative during a downturn. Nor did I even say I have a better alternative. I just asked the question...if you are so sure about Freidman..then it must be based on some factual data? So, what is this data? What is this country that followed austerity and came out ahead!? Do not assume sir, only makes you look like a..well..you know.

By the way...take a wild guess at the states with the highest poverty rates? Yeh that's right...red states through and through.

Highest poverty rate...the great state of Mississippi!

Explain that please?? Republican state..no prosperity??

Game, set and match son!

Oh wait...it is only one state you say??..Well, right on the heels of Mississippi, is the great state of Arkansas!!!!! Red again!!!

And the third highest...wait for it...wait for it...Kentucky!!!!!!

Waiting patiently for your well thought out response dear sir. :)

for May 2011, the nation's unemployment rate is 9.1%. The present rate of unemployment rate for blacks is 16.2%. So, while the overall unemployment rate has risen by 1.5% since Obama took office, the rate of unemployment for blacks is 3.6% higher. Seen another way, the gap between the African-American unemployment rate versus that of the entire population has widened from 5.0% when Obama took office to 7.1% as of May 2011. That is a rather huge move in a relatively short period of time.

What we've seen then is that African-Americans have had their economic state of life drop at a far greater rate versus other Americans during Obama's time in the White House

I believe it is important to mention that the President is elected by the American people, and the White House is the house of the people. Disrespecting/insulting the President is disrespecting/insulting the American people.

American people were really stupid for electing that liar Obama to the white house so disrespecting and insulting those responsible for that clown in the White House is well deserved.
