Post Office is not meant to be profitable. US government subsidizes mail delivery and helps make the economy more efficient.
Postal service is sacred. Great many countries have postal systems that are not worth a damn and they suffer for it. Imagine if we waited for private enterprise to build us an interstate system...
There is a place for government to do great things. Infrastructure, education, postal service, national defense, CDC, FDA, etc.
Quote from Mercor:
You need to study up on your civics. The post office by law can't accept subsidizes from the Government.
It also must include all costs when pricing its overnight services.
This is to protect the private companies like FedEx, UPS.
The advantage(liability) the post office has is a monopoly on first class mail. No reason first class mail couldn't be done by private company now.

Kept people working... oh wait, you probably are worried about lazy ghetto monsters that don't have health care as good as working people's... sorry...
Quote from Mercor:
Obama does have a point about insurance security. If you develop an expensive condition such as cancer or heart disease, and then get fired or divorced or your employer goes out of businessâthen individual insurance is going to be very expensive if it's available. But what the President and Democrats won't tell you is that these problems are the result mainly of government intervention.
Because the tax code subsidizes private insurance only when it is sponsored by an employer, the individual market is relatively small and its turnover rate is very high. Most policyholders are enrolled for fewer than 24 months as they move between jobs, making it difficult for insurers to maintain large risk pools to spread costs.
