Obama goes after Staples for threatening to fire employees who work more than 25 hours

When you read Obama's statements, the hostility to private enterprise just screams at you. That and the economic illiteracy.

Unfortuately, staples has a big merger under antitrust review. Not that the Justice Department would ever let politics enter into a decision.

Obama said something along the lines of "A big rich greedy corporation like that can afford to pay for healthcare for its employees"

Well someone broke the numbers down on that, the average employee healthcare plan in America costs the corporation 15k, well if you take that number, and times it by 80,000 it ends up being 1.2 billion. Staples only made 900 million last year, so I guess Obama thinks that Staples should operate at a 300 million dollar per year loss, and the tooth fairy should just keep giving staples money.

Don't forget, these are the same people who think rent control is an efficient way to ensure affordable housing and that the government knows what entry level jobs are worth.

'Are We Becoming a Part-Time Economy?'
John Robertson and Ellie Terry at the Atlanta Fed's Macroblog:

"Are We Becoming a Part-Time Economy?: Compared with 2007, the U.S. labor market now has about 2.5 million more people working part-time and about 2.2 million fewer people working full-time. In this sense, U.S. businesses are more reliant on part-time workers now than in the past. But that doesn't necessarily imply we are moving toward a permanently higher share of the workforce engaged in part-time employment. As our colleague Julie Hotchkiss pointed out, almost all jobs created on net from 2010 to 2014 have been full-time. As a result, from 2009 to 2014, the part-time share of employment has declined from 21 percent to 19 percent and is about halfway back to its prerecession level. But the decline in part-time utilization is not uniform across industries and occupations. In particular, the decline is much slower for occupations that tend to have an above-average share of people working part-time. This portion of the workforce includes general-service jobs such as food preparation, office and administrative support, janitorial services, personal care services, and sales.

"Why has the demand for full-time workers in general-service occupations been more subdued than for other jobs? As the following chart shows, wage growth for these occupations has been quite weak in the past few years, suggesting that employers have not been experiencing much tightness in the supply of workers to fill vacancies for these occupations. Presumably, then, the firms generally find it acceptable to have a greater share of part-time workers than in the past.

"The overall share of the workforce employed in part-time jobs is declining and is likely to continue to decline. But the decline is not uniform across industries and occupations. Working part-time has become much more likely in general-service occupations than in the past—and a greater share of those workers are not happy about it."

I had a friend who was educated in India. He said 90% of their education was math. I really wonder sometimes if Obama has ever seen a calculator. I mean, the whole democrat party seems to have absolutely no understanding of math. It's sort of like, "Math be damned. We have needs!"

"When I hear large corporations that make billions of dollars in profits trying to blame our interest in providing health insurance as an excuse for cutting back workers' wages," he told BuzzFeed, "shame on them."

I love the way Obama makes it sound like a bad thing that a company is making billions in profits. Only in the world of loony tune leftism is a profitable company bad.

The model of a great company according to Obama and Hillary is Solyndra.

Democrats math book goes like this:
You make it, we take it.

Also your a horrible person for not giving us more to take.

That's right, brother Maxie.
The truth is that the government has no right to know how much money you make or how much money you have.
There should be no tax on what a person earns; only a tax on what he spends.
