NZ Prime Minister has big bowl of stupid for breakfast

You don't understand because you don't look. You are obviously not a trader who understands the drivers of the NZ economy.

.

I see. So, things have actually been good for the dollar there since the election and Jacinda became PM and I have it all wrong because I am not up there on Mount Olympus with you.

If you have been long the nz dollar since before the election, howz that workin out for you? giggle.

Alright, I will leave it there. You are committing the cardinal sin by being boring. Find some minor thing to be right about and we will call it a day. We know you will go in circles for days until you do so I will let you be right about something. I just can't think of what it is right now.

Big hug for you. Sorry about all those insecurities.

THere are no circles, you scored no points. You epitomise the wilful ignorance that is rotting America from within. You just want to feel good getting a little bump of endorphin when you post. You say anything you want, as long as you feel it is real what does is matter?

I am happy to be boring, back to your swamp little frog.

Big love for you.

Big love for you.

As I was explaining to someone anyway today after your post:

People associate ups and downs with politician's faces far too much, even Trumps.

Firstly you would know, as a trader, that fluctuations in the value of a currency are just normal. Governments often want to devalue their currencies so if we judged everything on that...

Then there are the usual market factors, major partner currency fluctuations, oil prices are a major factor as is milk with NZ. https://www.earnforex.com/blog/nzddairy-correlation-not-that-simple/

NZ only produced ~30% of it's own needs in petroleum products, mostly as natural gas in 2015. It is pretty solid for domestic electricity due to hydro/geothermal/wind and natural gas. Some of the logic in the last link applies to oil. Regardless we are in an oil price spike.

Then you have the national stock exchange to look at, their equivalent of the S&P500. The value of a currency fluctuates, it is how well businesses navigate and in part, take cues from their equivalent of a FED is what is important (NZ Reserve Bank).

Look at the New Zealand stock exchange index, they seem happy enough.

Switching from center right to center left politics did little.

Sure because the stock index still floats with the market and supply and demand etc.

Whereas the currency- among the other factors discussed- is also directly manipulated by the central bank or subject to it. And what did the lefties announce immediately after being elected or as part of the campaign? - oh that's right. they want the central bank to devalue the nz dollar. Nice way to make everyone flaccid about the dollar in a hurry. In addition- like the americans- the central bank either has or has said it will- hump full employment on to the central bank's mission in addition to current inflation control, access to capital, goals.

She is a complete liberal. Oh god.

Fortunately for NZ her coalition partner is Winstone Peters - a true conservative- who has forced her to bend the knee

If you count being born and schooled there? And own a farm there now.

I also worked in Australia , over 10 years in Japan, several years in the Gulf, and over 5 years in Thailand.

That explains it :) I rightly or wrongly picked up on classic US lib/con team language but the back of my mind told me there was something different about you.

Sometimes I think of guys like TreeFrog had decent direct experience of other English speaking cultures (or just other) it would help them. Aussie politics can be a bit Punch-and-Judy tribal however it is functional/ok though it was worrying recently. The Kiwis in my experience are well balanced/sane and quite trusting of each other. I am quite defensive of the Kiwis, I like their idealism while maintaining decent pragmatism.

I have also lived in Thailand for a couple of years. Anyway, not saying anything much but I wonder sometimes if the US is on a course for slow destruction or it can get in order again. What happens happens.

I made a few little scalps long due to my belief in Jacinta whatshername or the middle of the roadness of Kiwi politics anyway and basic technical analysis of course. I have some contracts still running but not a bad haul.
