Nyc

I completely agree that NY is #1 pretty much across the board. But as a born and bred NY'er I must give Chicago its props. It is the only other large real city in the US. A NY'er can be instantly comfortable there.

More than 40 years ago -- 1968 -- my first non drug related business trip out of town (HEY ... it was the 60's), my first real buisness trip was to Chicago. I wanted to get it right and called the guy at the other end to check on last minute details maybe once to often. In the last call -- he really did not want another one -- he said to me:

"Tom, what are you worried about. We have all the right people bribed on this end!"

I cracked up and knew it would be a good trip.

NYC is much much prettier and romantic than Chicago.

I find Old Homestead to be overrated. Yes it's been around forever but ate there twice and neither time was memorable.

Wolfgangs on Park Ave is a must try!

Thanks all, I am glad that this brings back memories if you lived there or live there. Since you guys seem to enjoy it, I made the effort to post a few more pictures. You guys can figure out where I was on my walking trip as you see them...

Nice pix. Thanks.

The part I like about NYC is there is room for everybody and not only that, a time period for everything. Stoney mentioned some dive counter cafe, this place look untouched from the 30's and I don't mean this in a good way, the place was beat. It was someplace to eat "once" for the atmosphere.

I forgot where exactly, but there is a neighborhood where black sheep tend to live. Those people (wealthy) who are blacklisted from hollywood or other industries

fwiw I think you can buy a bryant park chair for $125 and put it on your porch.

It's ashame you can't tour the nyse, I tried to tour the fed reserve and forget it, a couple week advance reservation.
