No one - I am glad you agree. But with 4-5 million estimated illegal firearms, and these firearms (the illegal ones) being responsible for the majority of the crime and crime related murder, any legislation you would put in place would do little to stop the crimes you continue to rail against - unless you found some way to get rid of them.
Now, if your intent is simply to point out tragedy, then by all means, go right ahead. But this is an NRA thread, and the NRA supports gun rights. I would think that you would be focusing on that, and not just "shouting at the rain" about unfortunate gun incidents. Might I suggest opening a new thread and focusing on tragedies in car accidents (far more numerous) and other "tools of death" as well?

There are plenty of innocent victims in gun related crime.
And over 98% of them are shot with illegal guns.

The presence of firearms escalate situations. Carrying a gun makes people look at their environment differently, and make them more likely to respond to situations with violence.
With respect to the trajectory at issue, guns were designed for the sole purpose of accomplishing radical and life-altering action at a distance with minimal physical exertion on the part of the shooter. Since a gun's mechanisms were built for the purpose of releasing deadly projectiles outwards, it is difficult to imagine how one could realistically find utility in using a gun to pursue ends that do not require shooting bullets. For the most part, a gun's excellence simply lies in its capacity to quickly fire bullets that can reliably pierce targets.
To someone with a gun, the world readily takes on a distinct shape. It not only offers people, animals, and things to interact with, but also potential targets. Furthermore, gun possession makes it easy to be bold, even hotheaded. Physically weak, emotionally passive, and psychologically introverted people will all be inclined to experience shifts in demeanor. Like many other technologies, Ihde argues, guns mediate the human relation to the world through a dialectic in which aspects of experience are both "amplified" and "reduced". In this case, there is a reduction in the amount and intensity of environmental features that are perceived as dangerous, and a concomitant amplification in the amount and intensity of environmental features that are perceived as calling for the subject to respond with violence. The presence of a concealed knife escalates situations as well. Carrying a knife makes people look at their environment differently as well. Ban knives!
People with concealed weapons of any type act differently when they aren't trained.
Did you know a CCW allows for all types of concealed weapons (with a few noted exceptions), not just guns? Of course you didn't.
