That's not quite true. We, meaning mostly white Anglo Saxons, did not steal the country. We waged war against the inhabitants and took the country. The inhabitants were Indians and what now passes for a few Mexicans. Spoils do go to the victor. Just how it is.

We are now in the process of surrendering the country back to the Mexicans. Most of the Indians got screwed royally, but a few did cash in on some retributions in the form of casino money. Mexicans are the big winner though.

The difference between the white mans victory back then, and what's happening now, is at least the Indians put up a fight. Whitey is now simply running up the white flag and surrendering to the Mexicans without a fight. Leftist guilt has permeated the country. Ain't it a bitch. Oh well, we had a pretty decent run all things considered.

You have a point. Of sorts. But this is a far cry from claiming that "the Indians were squatters. There was no country and they had no title deed proving they owned the land." Which is disingenuous at best.

As far as stealing the land vs winning it in a war, a substantial number of Indians would disagree.

I couldn't agree more, though, about the casinos. They turned the corner when they had that little epiphany.

I never said they were squatters and anyone who does is wrong. This was once their land. The Indians lost the war in battle and to some extent believing the forked tongue white man when it came to signing treaties. Of all the people who have gotten hosed over the past few centuries, the American Indian is right at the top.

Yeah . . . the ancestors wiped most of them off by passing on their European diseases. Its well documented.

Conventional wisdom says that Native Americans descended from prehistoric hunters who walked from northeast Asia across a land bridge, formed at the end of the Ice Age, to Alaska some 12,000 years ago. American Indians resemble the people of Mongolia, China and Siberia.

In the 1930s, archeologists found stone spear points among the bones of mammoths near Clovis, New Mexico. Radio carbon dating in the 1950s showed that the oldest site was 11,400 years old. The sites were assumed, for years, to be the first evidence of human occupation in the Americas.

But more recent discoveries challenge the Clovis story. In 1996, archeologists in southern Chile found weapons and tools dating back 12,500 years. In Brazil, they found some of the oldest human remains in the Americas, among them a skeleton—named Luzia—that is more than 11,000 years old.

Luzia did not look like American Indians. Instead, her facial features matched most closely with the native Aborigines in Australia. These people date back to about 60,000 years and were themselves descended from the first humans who probably originated in Africa.

Finally, you have to know that when looking at old bones... there is still a lot of guesswork after the dna testing.
