NIH blocks access to genetic database if research enters forbidden territory

There are positive eugenics and negative eugenics.

Positive Eugenics

Historically, positive eugenic measures have included promoting the idea that healthy, high-achieving people should have children, or have larger families; introducing institutions and policies that encourage marriage and family life for such people; and establishing sperm banks where eugenically desirable traits, such as intelligence, are criterial either for donors or are listed as present in the donor for users to consider in their choices.

Negative Eugenics

Typically, these measures have included immigration restriction based on putatively eugenically undesirable traits, including race, nationality, and ethnicity; discouragement or prohibition of marriage and family life for those with eugenically undesirable traits; and sexual segregation, sterilization, and euthanasia of those with such traits.

The NIH has a problem with "negative eugenics" that's being abused by certain individuals, institutions, or research universities.

In my opinion, not discussed enough is the fact that sperm banks are eugenics...a very popular form of eugenics.

The DNA testing, phenology history, and medical history of donors are very extensive these days.

I forgot to mention education history, SAT/ACT scores, civil accomplishments, childhood pictures, pictures of grandparents, and some donors agree to private investigators looking into their background.

I know a wealthy single mom (extremely socially awkward) that used a sperm bank and found the perfect donor with the attributes she was looking for that's compatible with her background especially in intelligence level.

Her child has everything except for intelligence (poor SAT scores) and he's a menace to society.

That’s simply like two people creating a baby by having sex. They didn’t pick and choose their exact genetic components.

I strongly disagree. Eugenics evens the playing field. Two stupid parents will now be able to have kids with the smart genes. I think it will be more affordable than going through pregnancy.

how does eugenics make two stupid parents make a smart kid?

Do they keep having babies and killing them until they get one that has smarter genes?

I think eventually women will no longer give birth. We are very, very far from that. However, if we survive the next 1000 years as a species I think that will be the case.

so the stupid parents don’t have kids with their own genetic material? That solution already exists: sperm banks.

Eventually, yes, they will be able take combinations of their genes with genes they don't have. More research has to be done on genes though. I think there is currently about 70 trillion unique human possibilities. With evolution I assume this number is constantly changing.

say no to GMO babies, demand your babies are free range!
