It is weakness by the commissioner but not in the way you say. The weakness is that he bent to President.
In fact, the smart thing to do would have been to not address it at all. Now that there are penalties even more players will protest and there will be even more media coverage.
Trump is already looking like a defeated broken record. His rhetoric hasn’t changed from last year and the protests continue. Those players will not bend to Trump.
Wrong. They will bend the knee, only this time in a respectful manner toward the President of the United States.
Or, they can pursue career opportunities in personal training or lawn care. Most likely they will just go on welfare and take drugs when they are not producing illegitimate babies they refuse to support.
