Newt Gingrich: ‘CNN is less biased than Fox News’

There was a night a few months ago (maybe 6) where hannity was ripping Romney as he had been for a while, the next night a guest was saying the same thing and all of a sudden Hannity had the guy back off and said something nice about Romney.

Then he started attacking Ron Paul every time Paul opened his mouth.
It was all about the same time.
My only question was - was it Fox or was it the Party who gave Hanity the marching orders.

So while Gingrich blew it all by himself and I say overall the channel was very fair to him... there was a day when the network picked Romney.

Someone who plotted republican takeover of congress for years vs someone who ran against ted kennedy, said he was not "reagan/bush" did not seek a return to "reagan bush". Gingrich did a lot for the republican party and it stabbed him in the back. Of course, there is no honor among thieves, and he should have known that a sense of honor is a very rare commodity among republicans. It is all about "what have you done for me lately"

Gingrich has had as many if not more departures from conservative principles as Romney. Romney wasn't carrying water for the corrupt democrats who ran FNM and FRE. He didn't sit on a couch with Nancy Pelosi and advocate crazy cap and trade legislation.

Romney was in one of the most liberal states in the country, so I am willing to cut him some slack on some things. the important thing is he is pretty darn conservative now. Isn't that why we argue with people, to change their mind? He has lived an exemplary personal life from all accounts too, which you certainly can't say about Gingrich. Almost everyone who worked with Gingrich in the House opposed his candidacy. That speaks volumes.

Liberals like you want to have it both ways. They say Romney is too far right to get elected, but then argue that he is liberal and because of that, represents some sort of betrayal of the republican base. It's absurd. Romney is conservative but not a radical. People like that. They like him, they like his wife.

Romney is a political opportunist. He has no core beliefs and would gladly go from a gay rights parade to nra conference if he knew it would get him the presidency.

Romney is not now, nor will ever be a conservative. Romney is in for only one person - Mitt Romney. You just repeated the spin about him being "conservative now"

I am not a liberal. People don't like Mitt because he is a phony. Mitt would not have won a single state this primary season save for New Hampshire, Nevada and Massachusetts without a massive and overwhelming super PAC advantage.

Gingrich gave republicans the house of representatives and the senate in 1994. Romney gave republicans nothing. Correction, Romney gave the country Romneycare. His wife is a mannequin, a stepford wife. Gingrich is a bona fide republican (a bona fide asshole too) Romney is a bona fide opportunist. Republican party is in a very sad state right now to nominate someone like Romney. It would have been the same if Democrats nominated Joseph Lieberman for president (not vp as in 2000)
 
I have to agree about Romney and Newt. I don't particularly like either guy, but at least you know what you get with Newt. Romney seems so much like an artificial intelligence robot, adapting to whatever direction the wind blows. Liberals don't really even seem to care if he actually beats Obama. Of course they want Obama, and he will likely win, but Mitt won't really shake things up like conservatives would want. Basically a no big deal overall. With the Rove machine behind him, he may pull it off.

Single Payer wont fly in this country. If an average person in this country believes that the worst possible outcome is to be "a socialist european welfare state" what you have to work is limited. It is not about selling out but what you can realistically pass.
