The killer said he went to New Zealand because Australia had stricter gun control on semi-automatic weapons. That's a rather damning piece of evidence on why there needs to be stricter gun control in New Zealand. However, if one looks at the bigger picture, it's an even bigger message that the US with it's massive gun related violence issues needs to also use much stricter gun control.
