i can change my mind about the direction of a trade 50 times at a zero commission broker,
try that trading ES. You're down 4 points in fees and another 3 points in sread.

i dont think most people think about how relentless the math is
against you when you factor in retail fees long term

So the spread on ES is one tick wide or $12.50 I know that might sound like a lot but it's not since ES ticks in $0.25 increments, if you go with any discount brokerage you get lower commissions but less support fancy platform, but you get what you pay for.

And idk man. I don't like to change my trade directions 50 times in one trade. I like set a stop loss and profit target. I've set some just run which is hard to do psychologicly but very profitable.

you take 5 es trades a day, 250 trading days, 1250 trades per year, about 5K commiss/fees a year per contract.

who is making 5k a year per contract at home? nobody.

and thats just break even. :wtf:

3 points in spread on ES. that is 12 ticks. What are you talking about ???? It is hard even more than 1 tick.

You do know you pay at 0 comm brokers. If you do not realize it, stop trading and figure it out.

CME give you one if the best fighting chances because it is centralized. Both you and citadel are in the same queue to purchase/sell ES contract.

If you make 1 tick on 5 ES trades per day, over 1250 trades you've made $15.6K. Minus the fees as you say, you've made 10K per contract. Yer saying nobody at home can make 1 tick per day?

not the way you're describing it.. you're not going to make 1 tick "per trade"

if you make 250 ticks per year, certainly possible yes. but its going to take you
a lot of trades unless you're just 'letting it ride" which is investing not trading.

to make your 250 ticks per year I guarantee you wont beat the fees.
 
my point in all this is, if you're not a sophisticated hft firm and nobody is on this site,
you're giving yourselft zero chance to succeed trading cme products.

go with a zero commish broker and dont scalp for pennies and you can make
money.

250 ticks in the ES is like 64 points. Can do that in a couple of days due to the current vol in the markets. Do it with 10-20 contracts. Year over. Relax on the boat.
