Watching Pelosi on Fox. She just commented on HR3 and said that’s why they were flashing the “ok” hand sign at the SOTU.

It’s a nice thought that the country will return to a more centrist mindset but I’m afraid the opposite is true. We are experiencing a political death wobble, each election cycle keeps swinging farther to the extremes. Gotta break at some point.

There are a few important things that Sander's could get done if he were lucky enough to have both the house and Senate behind him. Criminal justice reform including phasing out of for profit prisons, healthcare reform, and uniform background checks on gun purchases are all things that enjoy broad support among the general electorate. They'd also pass legislation tightening up election security (it's languishing on McConnell's desk right now) and make it harder to launder foreign contributions into PACs and in general tighten up PAC reporting requirements which can be done via tax code without running afoul of Citizens United.

I don't have any issues with any of that proposed legislation, but would throw out that "healthcare reform" so recently after previous healthcare reform is rather pathetic. But there you have it.

I actually like Bernie. Sure, he's a kook but he's an uncompromising kook and he hates Wall Street corruption.
