New PC. What to do now?

I have just bought a new pc for trading. I am not a tech guy, so what do I need to do now?

anivirus
spyware
any other programs to download?

put it behind firewall first.

uninstall norton, install avast instead.

i will look up avast.

i am running xp pro...

my pc came with no pre-installed software, so i am free to get the best...

FWIW... I've used Avast, Anti-Vir, AVG, Norton, and others.

The one problem with Avast (well, it used to be) was that you had to reregister it each year.

My old ISP recommend I use AVG, as that is what they used.

how you connected to internet?
i mean properly set router NAT firewall, software firewall will slowdown your trading applications and often will make them unstable.

i would make restore point and then set XP according to to blackviper "safe" settings-
