New computer ordered 6 weeks ago, still waiting

Let me guess: semiconductor shortage, thus certain modules not available.

Motherboards, CPU's and Memory seem to be readily available (had to replace a dead motherboard this week so I've been shopping)
I suspect the GPU might be the problem. I was thinking about upgrading my GPU since I was upgrading but the high end cards are out of stock everywhere I looked and even IF they were available the prices are sky high due to demand from crypto miners.

I know there is a chip issue, but I thought pc build companies were getting a bit better supply than what is available to the public. I could have had a 3070TI from Newegg from there Shuffle event, but the price was ridiculous. I seen quite a few articles that the TI cards this time around are not an improvement performance wise, but they are being sold as though they are better.

And for reference google cyberpower - look at their reviews.....4.8 stars out of 16k votes.

Cyberpower is no different than any other company. A lot of gamers recommend going through them for a nicely built computer. Gamers arent ones to keep buying a piece of shit (they take gaming seriously) and word of mouth spreads fast in that community.

6 weeks from order date to starting to "assemble" the machine, and only after an e-mail demanding action?

I'd tell them to cancel the order and go with building your own rig. You will save money, and it will last twice as long. Nobody needs fricking neon lights in the chassis to make them look "cool". That's AlienWare nonsense that is simply unnecessary cost and heat and powerdrain.

Actually the youngest never got around to calling or emailing. He has 2 summer classes and works 30 hours a week, and keeps coming over for free food, so he kept putting it on the backburner, and talking about calling. So at least they responded without any prompting.
Also, my first question when they told me they ordered a computer was, does it have those stupid lights all over? They said it should be at a minimum. I hope so, I am with you on that garbage.
I had been talking about building, which I am guessing is where they got the idea of buying, but for the last year as you know, getting graphics cards and such is crap. I was not going to pay scalper prices to have a gaming pc, I'd just wait.
Our youngest bought his just after the Nvidia came out with the 30 series, and they were all ready hard to get for self builds. He bought a cyberpowerpc with a Nvidia 3070(I forget which brand), a 1T SSD, and a last run Intel CPU for $1350. The same pc now is closer to $2000.

I know inherently in my heart of hearts, on the topic of gaming rigs, that you do not need the best and newest to have an enjoyable experience. All that top-of-line stuff is for the pro competitors. Don't worry about all the gee-whiz bang fluff. One generation back, and you will enjoy the hell out of your games, at a much lower cost.
