Never talk about the money you make with your friends

Quote from guy990opl:

Three guys I thought were good and close friends do not talk to me anymore all we say now is hi and bye. It is weird we used to spend so much time together and talk everyday when my life was barely ok.

Then 4 years ago I started trading in the market and and things turned out to be much much much better then expected.

At first there was a common feeling of surprise for me and for them. Then after more and more success in addition to the feeling of surprise on their part there was also a feeling of annoyance, maybe even jelousy.

I should have told them just what they wanted to hear.

your ego chased your friends away.

not your trading.

Quote from Thunderdog:

How different our friends are. Whenever I discuss my trading performance with my friends, they invite me to dinner and give me their old clothes.

Hilarious. :D

Well, look on the bright side: You can easily replace those guys with three hot young gold-digging sluts! When life hands you lemons…

Quote from Cocaine:

Get some new, less insecure, friends. Real friends dont revel in your failures nor get annoyed at your successes. Real friends support you in whatever you do (well except things like start using heroin or something) :D

I hate to say this but it seems like those friends are almost non existant.

It's almost human nature for your friends to want to see you not do as well as them.

LOL now that's FUNNY AND SO TRUE!

Quote from trader_david:

that is human nature. when you make higher income, your friends at your former income level will disappear. since you get higher income, you may get a bigger house, get a fancy car, while those things may be easily obtainable to you, but it may be hard for them... why bother to keep friendship with you?

Are you serious? I mean, do you compare tax returns before talking to someone at a dinner party?

If you can't be friends with both a broke bum and a billionaire, then you need to brush up on your attitude IMHO.

OP: Hey bro, what's up?

OP's friend: Nothing much. I am just delivering pizza and I happen to be in the neighbourhood and I am wondering how you have been.

OP: Thanks bro! I am doing great! I just made a few thousand dollars within a few hours! Man, I am tired. (note: it's only 11am on his Rolex) Wanna go play poker in yacht?

OP's friend: No thanks bro, I gotta get this to the customer. (points to the pizza)

OP: Come on, you gotta check out my yacht. Forget about the pizza, let Alfred (the butler) take care of it. Yesterday, I saw the largest blue marlin ever! You gotta help me catch that.

OP's friend: No, really, I got a job to do. I gotta go now. We'll keep in touch!

OP: (Why do I have no friends?)

:P
