in the middle of the most mountainous region of PA I was notified of these articles and this thread. taking a break to respond via ip830w world phone as I have a clear shot at the night sky here and a full signal.

one must consider the following when evaluating this situation obviously margin requirements play the primary role in VNs market niche. it is my understanding these margin requirements were raised several times while VN was in positions.... the game board was altered at the most critical time by the powers that be.

furthermore VN has made far more money _over the years_ than he has lost during this situation.

yeah the original story was leaked to me by an insider however not being an employee of matador or affiliated in any way I did not know for sure the accuracy of same many rumours were and are swirling about. I am merely a good friend of vn and of several on the team and posess no inside knowledge of the firm or situation however.... I believe in standing with my friends in good times and bad.

this story may be far from over....

Is there a way to verify your claim that he's made more than lost? I am skeptical because Matador was likely as big if not bigger than his 97 fund, and even if he posted 40-50% gains in his most recent 3 years, his funds must have gotten bigger along the way, with the end result being that a more than 75% drawdown would have resulted in a larger absolute dollar amount lost than gained?
