Wouldn’t have anything to do with Omicron Covid cases dropping by over 90% and nearly none of the counties in these states being listed as high risk by the CDC, eh. You know… unlike Florida where the majority of the DeSantis supporting counties are still marked in red as high risk for Covid by the CDC.
Show a map where the counties are marked in red as "high risk" for COVID by the CDC, and provide the source. Because if we find any such counties as high risk in the entire state of California or Oregon or Washington, then your hypothesis is null and void.
And because we both know you'll run away now and not show anything, I decided to search and found this on the Mayo Clinic's website. Here is Florida.

First let's look at Florida... there is a bunch of good news in Florida about the waning of the Omicron wave but many counties still remain in high Covid levels according to the CDC. I will note the southern Florida counties around Miami which tend to have local Democratic leadership are not in the high level. Looks like a bunch of red counties are at the high level.

You can go to the CDC website and look up each county for it's Covid level rating - low, medium, or high under their new advisory system.

I will admit there are more counties than I thought in CA, OR, and WA at a high Covid level.
So I guess my hypothesis is null & void according to you. Despite Omicron Covid levels being down over 90% in these states and across the U.S. Masking and other restrictive policies change based on the Covid level in a region or nation -- this is how proper public health policy is expected to work. Of course, there is all sorts of political pressure after two years of enduring Covid -- but if a new variant comes out that causes high cases levels, hospitalizations, and deaths then we can expect that masks & restrictions will be put back in place in many states which follow the science.
Your hypothesis about them removing masks because its suddenly OK, yes - its bullshit,. Its political. So if you don't want to admit that, then you're better off just staying silent.

So your claim is that it is all about Democrats in the U.S. changing their political position -- nothing to do with science. Did the Biden administration also force all the other countries to stop masking and restrictions as well? Or maybe it is a global phenomenon based on the rapidly decreasing levels of Omicron across many western nations on the face of the earth. Whether it is travel rules or restrictions within countries -- all are changing now that Omicron is waning rather than rapidly rising.
