It's the market's job to determine the best way. All that's needed is a gradually increasing carbon tax. But yes, nat gas releases about half the CO2 of coal per BTU. However nat gas is itself a powerful GHG.

So in your first sentence you want the free markets to determine the best way. In your second sentence you want to interfere with the free markets by injecting a carbon tax to skew the market. Which is it? Hint: You can't have both.

So taxing "carbon" to cure a non-existent global warming "problem" somehow makes it so humans don't 'choke to death'.

The only people I see 'choking to death' are global warming alarmists on their own bile as all of their predictions are proven to be absurd fabrications.
