Naked call writing

And why exactly are you injecting yourself, don't your comments render you a hypocrite?

WRONG! We're not sitting at a fucking trading desk inside a bank, we're electronically trading from home!

And we are not managing other peoples' risks, AUM, we are managing our own! Apples and oranges thing!

And what is with this claim that he is "pissing on others"? I do not see that. He is in a personal tussle with you and nobody else. So maybe YOU are the problem. YOU are simply the one pulling the tiger out of the cage. Nobody else is helping you there. All on you man.

Why don't you just pipe down over there? Sheesh!

And why exactly are you injecting yourself, don't your comments render you a hypocrite?

Because you are attacking my friend with no grounded basis. You attacking him is WRONG on your basis, because you are doing so on false premises.

He learned soooo much in 3 years. For you to claim he cannot have possibly learned in 3 years what desk traders learned in 15 years is utter BS! As I mentioned earlier, he may be a savant on some level, but even he admitted he is still learning! This is a complicated industry we are in!

I am not a hypocrite if I stand by my beliefs? Not sure what that angle is you are inserting there. *shrugs*

Nope; calling an idiot out for being an idiot does not make one an idiot. Ditto taking down some jerkwad who thinks he can run his mouth without consequences - or taking a baseball bat to a burglar who broke into your home. Those are all things that reasonable, rational people do. But what's also worth noting is that the idiots, the jerkwads, and the criminals always switch to playing the victim and acting shocked when it happens: "but whyyyyyyyy? There I was, innocently talking shit/robbing a house, and suddenly, they... WAAAAH!!!!"

@Overnight is a nice person. One who tried to do you a favor by talking you out of being a jerkwad. It didn't work, but that says nothing bad about him - just about your commitment to remaining a jerkwad. Me, I'm not nearly as nice as he is once you get on my bad side, so I'll just tell you this: if you can't lift your leg with the big dogs, stay the hell on the porch. There are big, bad, scary things in that tall grass, and little whiny puppies best stay on their leash.

I think it's time you two break it down on the dance mat. It will settle it once and for all. (And BWS, this has the lifting-leg thing you spoke of, in a way, teehee.)

[smile] Thanks, ON. I don't think I'm a savant - I've met too many people who were way past me on that right tail of the bell curve - but one thing I'll definitely agree with: I'm still learning this business, and I'm never going to say that I'm done learning. That would take the kind of massive arrogance combined with ignorance and stupidity - which inevitably results in jealousy of others - that we've seen here.

(It's also why I don't think you're going to talk the flaming loudmouth down: rationality will not get someone out of a position that emotion got them into. Thorazine might, so could restraints - but not an appeal to calm down. Although it does say good things about you as a person.)

And that exactly is why I won't argue with you. You have never worked in the industry. You can't possibly know and I don't fault you for it. But you simply won't get it. And if you have more subject matter knowledge you would see beyond his charade. My last post on this in this thread.

Oh, yeah... those Deep, Awful Mysteries into which you were inducted in the Dungeons of the Most Arcane and Ancient Order, and forbidden on Pain of Pain to reveal to mere mortals...

Damn it, now I'll never find out how you people got those red noses to stay on!

You can look up most of his option related content in widely accessible options focused literature.

I do have to wonder... does this creature ever stop and check to see if it's making even the slightest shred of sense? Or is it just gabbling in purely-reactive panic, in every single post where someone challenges it in the least way?

On the one hand, the only things I'm saying are bone-standard basics from widely accessible options literature. On the other, they're so abstruse, deep, and sophisticated that you'd have to have decades of industry experience to see the subtle but nuclear-level destructive mystification in them.

I guess I'm just so awesome that I can do both at the same time.

(Such subtle, ineffable wisdom on my part must have taken a lifetime of study - perhaps meditation in ashrams on remote mountaintops as well as perusing dusty tomes guarded by dragons in their caves... and here I was thinking that I'm Just This Guy who has a decent brain and studies hard. I think I'll go buy myself a medal now. Or maybe just a nice croissant for breakfast.)

Here is a short cut for for you. Call Warren Buffett. He has described options as being nuclear-level destructive. He will explain the ins and outs of options to you.
