My goal is to make at least 30% per month

Under his third (or maybe fourth?) username here, perhaps ...

I'm betting it was botpro again.

Questions:

Was the IB result faked? I assume not. Still, how could he be so naive to believe that he can make 30% weekly, week after week? That part just doesn't add up...

Also his goal with the journaling was pretty obvious from day one...

I will tell you what else doesn't add up. First he threatens to put people on his ignore list (as if that will upset anyone), and even though he says he does, he eventually says that he cleared his list. Anyone who actually gets pissed off enough by someone never clears their list, unless the intent is to keep a discussion going. Lets not forget, even arguments still draw views, and what he needs most is views.

He is also drastically changing his plans on a dime. First he doesn't need anything from anyone, then all of a sudden he "convinces" his partner that more capital will faster increase their profits. If someone is so smart to develop a system that makes 30% in a month, I don't see how this oversight is lost on them. Never mind the fact that any starting capital, compounded monthly at 30% will make you very rich.

His willingness to "help" others share in his success is probably just slightly less altruistic than Maddoff. Given what he presents, there is no need to involve anyone else, and yet, in the past few days, hunting for money seems to have been priority number one.

The whole thing just has so many holes.

And like the other poster said, without seeing what he is trading, those statements mean nothing. None of it can be verified, and a statement on its own means absolutely nothing.

Its sad that the mods closed down the thread without any mention of what is going on. If its a fraud that they somehow uncovered, I think they need to point this out. Other times when a person asks for the thread to be closed, they make a post about it at the end and say it was the wishes of the OP. I think the users have a right to know what is going on given how much time everyone wasted in these threads.

It's possible to make 30% week after week and then lose it all in one day. Since we don't know all the details it's hard to make any assumptions.
The fact that he was possibly banned is very unfortunate development. :(

Exactly so.

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing that's why he's no longer with us.

Sure - this was clear (to all but the OP, I suppose, who perhaps didn't realise it was so clear to others) because he was continuing to reply to people he said he'd "ignored".

Indeed.

Well, I suppose not a "right", strictly speaking, but it would be nice to, certainly. Especially if he's had multiple names here (as many of us strongly suspect.) Speaking for myself, I admit to having wasted my time in this thread knowingly (i.e. assuming that at some point the forum would have had enough of him - as so many of its members had - and he'd be made to disappear), so I can't really complain about that. Which is a shame, in its own way, because I'm all too good at complaining.

Totally agree... just wasn't sure how it would end.

It wasn't too long ago where that guy, creditcard, or something like this, came around as a vendor claiming he was going to make 600%. After about 3 trades, I think he was finished, but at least he was up front about it.

The trouble with this marsman guy is that he deceived us with regards to his intent. At first it was just about watching this guy learn that SIM trading isn't like live trading. At the very least, we thought we would just follow a journal. But at this stage, it seems like this was all just a bit con job in order to find capital. So in some ways, its not only a waste of time, but perhaps even dangerous/criminal.

I know that Baron has to balance internet traffic with quality content, but if we have more and more of these types of threads, the quality posters leave, and its just an episode of Jerry Springer. Nobody wants this I imagine, and if it can't be prevented given how this guy changed his tune, at least an explanation after the fact would be nice.

This is my contention. I'm pleased to see someone else making the same point.

It takes only a small number of spammers/trolls to drive away a large number of contributing, respected members. With apologies for sounding "preachy" (if I do), not least because I can't pretend that it's really any of my damn business anyway, I think the reasons that some trading forums are losing members, participation and traffic while others are at the same time gaining them are actually far from "mysterious": one need only examine their moderation policies and the enforcement of them, to understand these issues very clearly. But I have probably (as ever) said enough on this subject.

Think of how many people left because of Marketsurfer's shenanigans.

Who the hell was this guy? Everybody talks about him, ....one poster actually accused me of being him. (i'm not) Is there a link to his posts? He must have really stirred the pot here.
