My first post on ET in 5 years. Has the signal-to-noise ratio improved here? Thoughts?

I'll say something controversial.....
You may remember marketsurfer or surf from several years back....?
He said a few things which pushed buttons but one of them....he was anti the fx posters on ET.
Strangely enough, I think he had that right.
The retail traders on ET who think they can succesfully trade fx (above anything else) have imo a screw loose and usually the fx threads are good places to seek out ignore contenders.

These are the kind of dumb replies that get people put on ignore. Either get off your lazy bun and check him out or hold off judgment for a future date. I suggest the latter if you have any interest in this matter.

I agree. I've already put 2 people on 'Ignore' this afternoon.

My impression is that in terms of knowledge and ideas being shared the golden days of ET are behind us. Fortunately, old posts are still available in the archive and there's a lot of gold buried here.

I'm sure there's some great traders lurking and even posting here today, but no idea how many.

Well, yes, sharing knowledge, ideas. Nothing proprietary, of course. Just the normal give and take of helping each other out. I'm not lonely - I'm not up for chit chat while trading. After hours and during the weekend, sure.

Hi there,
It's been 5 years since I last signed into EliteTrader. Back then, spammy replies, amateurism, and weak content moderation were a real problem for me. In catching up on reading in this particular channel it seems things might have changed for the better. Is there more of a real-money, non-retail trader presence here now?

Yes -usual garbage and inflated ego's with the exception of a few people, like Volpri,for example, who post thought provoking material.

1 man's thought provoking material is anothers man's BS, merely means it what you think, listen to the others incase what you think is actually heaven forbid, WRONG!!

Seems a bit stuck up.

Most of the point of ET is chatting to others going through the trading hell, no matter what stage there at, ie losing there asses, living in mom and dads cellar or profitable and living the dream ( hint most the first ), if you don't get that, wrong place, need some $1000 per month, Pro Site where chat and banter is banned.
