Multi-chart Ripping Off Tradestation

If TradeStation has no issues, then why do they have the following line:

{ ** Copyright (c) 2005 TradeStation Technologies, Inc. All rights reserved. ** }

You generally use "Copyright" when you wish to reserve rights. Hence, it sounds like that they have rights which they have reserved. Maybe they do not care, maybe TradeStation people are involved in Multi-Charts.

Whatever it is the stock holders of TradeStation Technologies who are losing. Anyway, I guess I am the only one who cares.
 
My question is more about the chat posted. Is this a support group at TradeStation or TS Support? My understanding is that TS Support was a completely separate group from TradeStation and the originators of MultiCharts. They worked on easy language and esignal's EFS then split into 2 groups. My impression is that the group working on EFS became ATD and is working exclusively with esignal while the TS Support group created MultiCharts. They may still really be a single group working all sides at the same time.

If the chat was really with TS Support and not the support group at TradeStation, I'm sure they would see no legal problem. If it was really a support group operated by TradeStation, then it seems like a dead issue based on their response. Of course we've all received our share of bad information from support reps on the front lines.

1. What does "Copyright" notice has to do with infringement? If you look at Microsoft's products, you will see it has list of references to other company's "Copyright" notice. Why don't you go challenge Microsoft ???

2. Why don't you go question Tradestation if they have a legitimate "Copyright" claim ???? e.g. Are they paying Wells Wilder for the use of RSI and Parabolic SAR ???

3. Why don't you go ask Tradestation to see if they have granted fair use ???

4. Why don't you ask the copyright office to see if there is copyright infringement ???

Yes, if someone writes a trading ideas it protected by free speech. A person is free to express his or she ideas any way they want. The idea is their's so they can stop other from using it if they want but they can do what they want with it.

Your post was interesting. With reference to your question, the chat posted was with TS Support.

Till date, I have not received any information from TradeStation, despite many emails & reminders.

Just my views that When an author publishes ideas in a book , then they become part of the public domain unless he states otherwise in the book. This was not done in Wilders New Concepts book in 1978.
