MSM On The Cop In Spring Valley... TOTAL HORSESHIT!!

She didn't of course, but what if when she hit him in the face (alledged) she had a small knife or box cutter in her hand? How gently is a cop supposed to subdue someone?

If and when the cop could have broken the girls neck while in this scuffle. :)

The teacher and the administrator who were in the room at the time both said the officer acted appropriately, according an article about this in the dailymail.com

I back the cop, too. Including everything he did.

That teacher was a p**sy. That's like the cop that shot someone and they rest of the cops said he acted appropriately....cmon dude. His boss fired his ass and made different statements....So did he or did he not act appropriately...he aint got no job.

Well, I don't know. Considering how exaggerated and sensationalized this was, perhaps his boss didn't have much of a choice.

why is it so difficult for black people to get it through their skulls that following simple instructions would eliminate 99% of their violent confrontations with police?
Looking at the bright side. She'll never have to work a day in her life. Jackpot! Of course this assumes she'll survive the crack binge and/or the rest of her family and friends wanting their piece of the action.
Just got your head shaved, did you?

or probably because out of all his muscle flexing this one got caught on video. Bye bye.

I was on a car trip today and listened to public radio, which has been as obsessed with this as cable. One point made by a former police chief was that these so-called school resource officers should not be invovled in classroom discipline. Various systems handle it in different ways, but the gneeral consensus is the officers are there for security, not to be the administration's muscle. If they are involved, this is the inevitable outcome.

Of course, none of the commentators thought to blame the girl at all for the incident. They all accepted the notion that of course a disruptive and intransigent "student" had every right to make the learning environment impossible for otehr students and to rpevent the teachers from doing their job. the alternative might scar teh poor girl or put her on the dreaded school to prison path.

The public radio panel was seemingly baffled by the issue of why blacks and hispanics are disproportionately the victim of police violence. The only apparent answer to them was racism.

The one conservative allowed to offer an opinion pointed out the disproportionate rate at which they commit crime and offered the suggestion that if you come into contact with teh polcie a lot, bad things tend to happen. They acted like she had farted.

When I was in corrections the magic number was three. "I'm giving you a lawful order to do X. If you do not comply physical force will be used against you. Do you understand?"

(let them vent and/or comply. If no compliance...)

"Are you done? Ok, I understand. Now I'm giving you a second lawful order to do X. If you do not comply..."

Why are the lower classes everywhere more likely to be involved in street crime? Hmm, that's a real puzzler.

As much as I blame this girl and the school for getting this cop involved in a classroom discipline incident, I also have to agree with el cubano that this was not a situation that required physical coercion. She had not violated any laws that I am aware of. If they wanted to make a formal charge that she was trespassing,e tc then he can arrest her and use reasonable force.

I give the teacher and administrator props for backing the officer. Clearly, this was not the first time this girl had been a problem. The real issue is not the officer's conduct but why schoolsystems cannot expel unruly students and protect the learning environment for those who want to learn.
