MotiveWave Q&A

Hi,

Some improvements were made on the Point and Figure Charts in version 5.0, however some users have suggested that there is a better (or more correct) way to implement P&F charts. We plan to revisit this in the future.

The calculation of continuous contracts is currently handled by your data service. None of our data services currently provide access to historical (expired) contracts so we have no way to calculate this on the client. We have been collecting historical data for major futures contracts since last year (for back fill purposes) and we plan to provide tools to allow the user to customize how continuous contracts are calculated in a future release.

A blank area on the left side of the charts is not supported in MotiveWave, as this would cause a break/gap in the data as you scroll back. What do you need that empty space for?

We are always looking at potential new brokers and data service providers that we can connect to. If you have a contact at CTS, please have them contact our Support team.
Is continuous contract chart feature available now? Although your platform has fancy tools including
EW or Harmonic, their usability is limited because daily or weekly chart analysis is not doable. TradingView is much better for this purpose.

Is continuous contract chart feature available now?
Yes, continuous contract support was added in our Version 6 beta, as well as enhancements to the loading and processing of tick data, improvements to non-linear bars so that they are more consistent and efficient, and many other features and enhancements.

Instrument Overlay
When I open /NQ chart, I want to compare it with /ES and /YM. Can I display /ES and /YM as indicator panes (instead of main chart overlay)? I need to see divergence between the indices. This is the feature I like the most in TradingView platform. Can your platform do this as well?

By the way, please add offset option to Break Even button in next release. (I know how to make bracket order with TP, SL and BE /w offset)

Hi Leigh, do you have a video that shows how MotiveWave's DoM displays & handles orders with partial fills as they are filled? TIA

Would also like to see the order management window in the video, if available please.

Yes, you would choose Study>Instrument Graph (instead of Study>Instrument Overlay).

The Instrument Overlay/Instrument Graph functionality was not introduced in our version 6 beta--it's been in our software for years. :)
