Yawn. You’re being boring and not thinking critically. Obviously the laws on the books don’t have enough teeth because this sort of thing happens regularly.
Not enough "teeth"?
If someone commits a gun related offense, they go to jail and their guns are removed from them. They are not allowed to own guns again. What extra "teeth" are you looking to put in place? Flogging? Now if these laws aren't enforced, why have them? Why make more?
And don’t give me the old rap about not enforcing the law, that’s a lame brain excuse. Law enforcement has a vested interest in keeping guns out of dangerous people’s hands - self preservation. You claiming they are taking some lackadaisical approach to this issue shows you don’t understand the situation from an enforcement side.
What we need is “well regulated” guns. Stop blaming law enforcement for the loose guns laws in this country. The NRA is responsible.
From the article posted:
"Phillips has two weapon charges in Tennessee. An unlawful possession in 2009, and a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2013 that was resolved as a misdemeanor. Police say Phillips has a current concealed carry permit in Tennessee.
"I can't believe someone who has past weapon charges against them is even still allowed to carry," said Pierce."
"I can't believe someone who has past weapon charges against them is even still allowed to carry," said Pierce."
This is the only information available in the thread regarding the incident. Based on this, he should not have had weapons in his possession. Thus, it looks as if the laws were not enforced.
If you wish to bring more evidence and information to the table, I'll be happy to reassess my view. Until then, you're just yammering incessantly.
