Money is Everything.

The real world is being able to eat, have shelter, feed your kids, and enjoy life in general. NOWHERE in this missive did I ever mention being "rich". That came up from other posters' posts. If you cannot feed yourself because you are poor, you are sad. If you have money, you can buy food, which will make you happy. "Grateful". Is that a more appropriate term?
An assumption on my part when you mentioned that money is everything and without it you will be sad. I equted that to being rich. My bad!

Grateful is an excellent term. You don't need money to be grateful for what you have.

So what makes you happy besides posting on ET.

That should be enough. And modern society provides easy access to everything we need to be happy. But humans appear to be greedy and want more and more.

I think greed comes down to status, specifically the left over status circuitry in our brains from a time when things were very scarce. Our brains are constantly evaluating our status in society. Obviously some people are more subject to this and others, but it pretty much effects everyone to some extent.

The positive intention of this part was to get us to work harder so we didn't go hungry and also make us attractive to the best mate for reproduction.

That part is still there, but food isn't a big problem anymore for most of us, so that part instead nags us to get that bigger car and bigger house, or whatever thing is considered higher status.

Money is important but it is not everything. Having it doesn’t give you any assurity to success. Skills are equally important and they both go parallel; you can’t succeed without any of the two.

Eventually you will get to the point in your life where you realize that the things that are important are things that money won't buy.

LIKE health, wealth , wisdom.
Sure wealth can include federal reserve notes, sure not limited to that or even gold silver cash, Canadian quarters or checks........
Me i would rather not have cancer, regardless: and all of America is rich compared to most of the world.

Off course you invest to make money. I don't know a single person who does otherwise although there are some here on ET that make me wonder.

there’s a guy on here who said he started day trading because it helps with his epilepsy. I can’t find the post but it’s really fascinating. He only trades 1 lots of the ES but focusing on the ticks has helped his brain.

Let's hope he makes money or it will be an expensive treatment.
