i'm not sure how you can use 'pure" and "all around" in the same sentence like that...

in any case, i thought it would be obvious that barkley and malone are WAY better than horace grant. no competition.

name one thing besides defence that horace could do better than either of them? i can't think of any. so in what sense is he 'all around' better?
i don't think it's too much of a stretch to say malone and barkley were far better than grant at offense than grant was better than them at defence.

I gave you Barkley Malone...although, Defense is 50% of the game so you shouldn't take it to lightly...case and point: Horace's defense against my beloved knicks was just as important as scoring 25...remember him and pippin denying Charles Smith the winning shot in Game 6?????? Also he was an incredible weakside defender and did the dirty work....so again I ask in the 1990's who was a better all round PF? so fare we have 2.....

who was first team?? Rodman?...Anyway the original point was that MJ did not play with slouches as Canyon said...they had an excellent cast

And it was MJ's learning to extend his abilities through this cast that makes him, "THE BEST" at it to date. It (the game) became so easy for him that he thought he could duplicate the concept in Washington. That's where he too seemed to slip. The reason that it worked in Chicago was that Krause/Jackson looked at him and built the team around him, for him.

In Washington he tried to build it around himself. IMHO, for it to be done best, you need to trust the management/coaches analysis of you. Then you have to let them build it, mold it and strengthen it. In washington, I think he tried to wear too many hats. :)
 
couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that he was 40 years old and out of the game for the past three years could it?

Jordan at 30 would be leading the Wizards to the championship of the East, to lose to Shaq and the Lakers.

Jordan has nothing in DC, Slackhouse is a bust in my opinion. Who knows when he will show up to play? That was a bad trade in my opinion. At least you could count on Hamilton, you can't depend at all on Slackman.
 
this is getting ridiculous.

next thing we're gonna hear that jordan could take a team of yinka dare, bo kimble, ed obannon and doug smith to the finals...
