Yes, you are correct. Even today all this can be done via contract.
The Gays have a different agenda. First they hijack words from the language like Gay and Rainbow. Now they want to steal the word marriage.
They want to make their lifestyle normal, even to the point where it is taught to schoolchildren that 2 daddies is ok.
I truly believe we are headed down a slippery slope in regards to some very basic human traits. Such as intolerance and violence.
Some how we have been taught to think that both are negative 100% of the time.

You dont have the right to live in a society free of things you find repulsive. That is not implied by pursuit of happiness in any way.
There are millions of Americans. Each American finds something repulsive. If we were to eliminate all things repulsive to any American, we would have nothing. I may find you repulsive. I do not have a right to eliminate you from society.
Are there universal truths and morals for humans beings that apply across cultures? The ten commandents?
Problam is that we allow different societies to impose their beliefs even if it interferes in the inalienable rights of others in that society. Things such as stoning women, child marriages.
There is a sizable group that wants to make adult-child sex legal.

I watched the NY Governor with a large group of "Marriage Equality Now" behind him. They are trying to make a choice into a poor, downtrodden minority.
As someone said above, why can't adults now have loving sexual relationships with children? how about dogs?
Why not clone humans? Breed chimps with people? etc. etc.

I think the really unfair aspect of this whole episode is being overlooked. This girl was probably denied the crown because she announced a personal opinion in favor of traditional marriage. She was careful to say that she wasn't trying to impose her views on others. Her opinion for herself only. Of course, that was intolerable to the thought control nazis pushing the radical homo agenda. Anything less than supine acceptance of their position is an outrage.
The result was this pervert Perez Hilton threw an hysterical fit that she not get the crown. This is an open and shut case of religious descrimination. Donald Trump and the event should be sued over it. Or maybe they should just announce it is restricted in the future to women who are willing to deny their religious faith and go along with whatever a judge suggests, however immoral it might be to them.
