Mind Over Matter

Sit back in your easy chair recliner with your legs on the foot rest and then do one arm push ups with a 20 pound dumb bell till you are too tired to continue.

Then lift one of your legs off of the footrest. To me it feels as if it only weighs about a pound.

Isn't that sort of mind over matter, considering the fact that your leg is much heavier than a pound.

Leverage because you use other muscle like stomach, butt, back to lift your leg?

How is this "mind over matter" except in the most literal possible reading of the phrase? It's just a well known effect of experiencing muscle fatigue and failure

Quote from hoodooman:

The foot feels so light that its hard to tell which muscles I'm using.
