For what purpose?
The country is being run by and for the top 1% - the top income echelons own the Republicans, almost literally. For them to claim that tax cuts for the rich pays for itself in jobs and increased economic activity is ridiculous. No - it will be mostly saved or invested abroad. There are many rich people who are truthful enough to admit this.
The cost of cuts for the 1% (which also in effect is borrowed from China) dwarfs any benefits for the unemployed and which BTW, lazy girlfriends aside, mostly allays public misery.
The elite are only hurting themselves by their foolish and cruel policies. That which cannot continue will not continue. Cruel and unequal governance will end one way or another.

While this is partially true, direct tax cuts WITHOUT an increase in Consumer Demand will not translate into more jobs, Tax INCREASES will NEVER create more jobs and will only cause the companies to add the tax increases into the prices they charge for their goods and services there by DECREASING demand.
Unequal governance? Nearly 50% of the people do NOT PAY ANY TAXES. While the top 5% pay 90% of the tax burden and you think somehow the poor are getting screwed by Uncle Sam's taxes?
What is unfair is that the average person that gets an education and works hard their entire life will give up nearly 50% of their income to pay for a FAMILY of couch potatoes to live on welfare and contribute absolutely nothing to society except to breed 7 to 10 more couch potatoes.
I want to add that I am not uncaring but I do think the current version of the Welfare program is broken and only serves to encourage people to be lazy and mooch off of the system. My idea would be to first and foremost to provide the most and best benefits to those that are physically or mentally incapable of helping themselves. This would be the elderly and the handicapped.
Every able bodied person should be required to fulfill three requirements to qualify for welfare. First would be to perform community services to better the community as a whole. This could be something like helping meals on wheels to deliver food to elderly or disabled people, community beautification projects, or habitat for humanity aid. Second and more importantly they should be provided some sort of job training programs to help them get work and become a contributing member of society. This would not only encourage people to get real work instead of mooch it would actually make the community better in the process. I would rather see government money spent on training people to work and paying for daycare for their kids than just paying them to sit on their asses all day doing nothing but making more kids. The third requirement would be to submit to regular drug testing and if they fail more than twice the get PERMANENTLY cut off from the welfare program. I do not like spending MY tax dollars for a junky to get a fix.
