Michael Moore Kills Capitalism With Kool-Aid

Not once in the film did Moore blame any individual American for the housing bust. In his mind every last piece of the housing bubble is laid at the feet of Washington, DC and bankers/Wall Street. Condo flippers, option ARMers taking money out to go mall buying, no money down loans when you got no job -- none of that is ever mentioned. No balance at all on this in his film. But like I said he does go after some Democrats, and of course Bush, hard.

I agree that all systems (isms) have good intentions in theory. But in practice, over time, a self serving oligarchy always forms. That's when the system crashes from its own weight and something new arises.

It's an unavoidable cycle of civilization.
 
I'm sort of learning to avoid getting hamstrung by people that hate individual achievement... don't tell them what you are doing, they are like caged gorillas in a zoo waiting to throw monkey shit at the tourists... in fact that's pretty muchly how I see Michael Moore... I heard him speak at USC once.. he is a foul mouthed typical tough ass communist organizer type.. the masters of spin btw, they can take anything and make it into virtually anything... what usually happens is they get somebody into their movement but their shitty attitude turns any sane individual off so they collect a lot of people over time but almost none stick...

Exactly, I never tell anyone what I do. My neighbors just smile and nod, as they think I'm some kind of hitman. Always better to be feared then loved.

I am all for regulated capitalism, but I will likely see this movie for the simple reason that it outrages members of ET's uber-capitalist brain trust who, with one exception, have not even seen it yet.

It already was! That said, since last fall I am not sure what we are operating under anymore. The idea that Bush could come on TV and yell, "boo, we need to spend lots of money now or we have Depression number 2!" is rather sick in my book. Cause now we are to believe it's all gone away. No more problem! All fixed! ...but then why is a government institution keeping rates at 0 still...

To be fair, you do not even know what real capitalism is. It's borderline brutal. It is also self destructive, and if you understood the central theme of perpetually growing profits, you would see why.

And the institutions & people who are behind these government policies are some of the greediest & most capitalist you could ever find. You don't see Goldman Sachs complaining or AIG, yet they are all for capitalism.

I am not supporting Moore's film and if I were to see it I would expect a biased view. However, I think it should be obvious even before seeing his film that corporations LOVE to use the government as a weapon & excuse while they even further abuse the population. In the end, both Socialism & Capitalism, (as well as Communism) end up in a Fascist regime. You keep forgetting that Capitalism is nothing more than a pyramid scheme.
